The meeting will bring together individuals and civil society organisations from the African Diaspora in the UK. This meeting is the fourth of ADVAD’s consultation with its members and key stakeholders, and will act as the final consultation for the submission of its recommendations to the Commission for Africa (CfA). It will fully assess the part that the African Diaspora already plays in Africa’s development, and the strength of its future role. This will present the opportunity to discuss the key issues affecting African Diaspora organizations and individuals in the UK and their invaluable contribution to Africa’s Development. Emphasis will be placed on how the CfA and the African Diaspora can work together towards Africa’s economic, political, and social development. Key personnel from the CfA will also be present. The African Diaspora Voices for Africa’s Development (ADVAD) was formed in 2003, due to the growing need for a network that would speak with one voice on issues pertaining to Africa and Africa’s development.
