African Diaspora Voices

About ADVAD

The African Diaspora Voices for Africa’s Development (ADVAD) was formed in 2003, due to the growing need for a network that would speak with one voice on issues pertaining to Africa and Africa’s development. Our vision is to increase the ability and capacity of Africans in the Diaspora to enhance and influence the rate of Africa’s development and well-being.

ADVAD is a coalition of 80 members, drawn from individuals and organizations, who see ADVAD as a platform to give the opportunity for Africans to speak with a united voice on African development issues.

ADVAD was formally launched on July 3rd 2004 at African Diaspora and Development Day (ad3) and provides opportunities for African organisations to support each other, create strong networks, and a forum for effective lobbying on behalf of the Diaspora and African development.
